Drawing Competition on World Disability Day

“On the occasion of World Disability Day, a drawing competition was organized at Shafiq Memorial School.”
The event was graced Prof. Ahrar Husain Vice President DES and Secretary of DES, Prof. Kehkashan Y. Daniyal and Manager, Prof. Rehan Khan Suri. During the programme, the distinguished guests awarded the winners of the drawing competition with certificates and cash prizes, appreciating their creativity and efforts.
On this special occasion, two students who secured First and Second positions at the State Level in the Para-cum-Special Sports Competition were also honoured. They were presented with medals, certificates, and cash rewards for their remarkable achievements.
The event concluded with words of encouragement from the guests, motivating students to continue showcasing their talents and bringing pride to the school.

Sports Day and Adil Memorial Cricket Tournament (Shafiq Memorial Senior Secondary School)

Every year, the school organizes the Adil Memorial Cricket Tournament, and this year it was conducted with great enthusiasm. After a long interval, the school also organized Sports Day on 7th November 2025, bringing excitement and energy to the campus. Various fun-filled races such as lemon and spoon race, three-legged race, sack race, and blind race were conducted, along with a thrilling tug of war event. Students from all four houses—Zakir House, Baig House, Sir Syed House, and Nehru House—actively participated in these competitions. After tough competition, Sir Syed House emerged as the overall winner. House teachers motivated their students and cheered them throughout the events. The Adil Memorial Cricket Tournament was held from 3rd November to 7th November 2025. The final matches took place on 7th November, with Class VII vs. Class VIII in the junior category and Class IX vs. Class XII in the senior category.

The tournaments and events were organized by Mr. Wasi Asgher and Mr. Mohammad Noumaan, under the supervision of the School In-charge, Mr. Vakil Ahmad. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 12th November 2025, where trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to the winners of the Adil Memorial Cricket Tournament and Sports Day events. The celebration reflected the true spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm among students and staff alike.

Debate Competition at Anglo Arabic Sr Sec School

Shafiq Memorial Shines again in Inter-school Debate competition held on 29th Oct 2025.Our school team made us proud again by winning the esteemed Ghaziuddin trophy for seven consecutive years competing against the top schools. Our debaters Impressed everyone with their sharp arguments and confident speaking, on the topic of Artificial intelligence .Our school not only earned the trophy but the contestants from our school, Abdul Subhan S/o Kafel Ahmed and Safwaan Quddus Sallem S/o Mohd Khurram Saleem won individual prizes also. The Mentorship goes to Mr. Noorul Islam our talented teacher, who polished the students .Congratulations to the team and their mentor for bringing glory to our school once again. The trophy is in the name of Ghaziuddin, who was founder of Anglo Arabic School in 1969. It was originally named as Madaria Ghaziuddin Khan. The trophy is dedicated in loving memory of his esteemed founder, whose vision legacy continues to inspire. At school the victory was celebrated by the Cash prizes awarded to the winner by honourable Mr. Vakil Ahmed (H.O.S ) of the school and MS- Naseem Nawab TG.T Persian ,celebrating their achievements and motivating them to reach even greater heights.

Active participation of Our Teachers in Sardar @150 Marathon

Teachers of Shafiq Memorial Sr. Sec. School enthusiastically participated in the Sardar @150 Marathon held on 31st October 2025 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The marathon aimed to promote unity, fitness, and national integration among citizens. Our teachers actively joined the event, showcasing great enthusiasm and team spirit. Their participation reflected the school’s commitment to encouraging physical well-being and celebrating national icons. The event concluded with a message of solidarity and collective strength, echoing Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India.

The school extends a warm and heartfelt welcome to Prof. (Dr.) Rihan Khan Suri, our new Manager.

Prof. (Dr.) Rihan Khan Suri is a distinguished academic leader, renowned for his expertise in innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development. With over 33 years of rich experience in academics and industry, he has made remarkable contributions to higher education and institutional growth.

He is presently serving as Professor & Training and Placement Officer, University Placement Cell, Jamia Millia Islamia.

Previously, Dr. Suri served as the Director, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, where he transformed the centre into a vibrant hub for nurturing entrepreneurial talent and promoting innovation.

Before that, he held the position of Pro-Vice Chancellor at the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), Government of Delhi, where he played a pivotal role in advancing skill development and strengthening industry–academia collaboration.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Suri has founded and established several institutions and departments across academia and industry. He has also served as:
  • Honorary Advisor, U.P. State Institute of Forensic Sciences
  • Training & Placement Officer, Jamia Millia Islamia
  • Chairman, Governing Board, Gargi College, University of Delhi
Dr. Suri has published and presented numerous papers in national and international journals and conferences. His contributions extend beyond academia through his active involvement in research, innovation, and policy advocacy, earning him several awards and accolades.

His vision and dedication to fostering innovation-driven entrepreneurship and skill-based education continue to make a profound impact on India’s educational landscape.

CELEBRATION OF TEACHERS’ DAY

Teacher’s Day was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm and respect. On this occasion, the students of classes XI and XII took on the role of teachers and successfully ran the school for the day. Their efforts created a joyful and memorable experience for both students and teachers. A tea party for all the teachers was arranged by the Staff Council as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. The atmosphere was warm and filled with gratitude. A light cultural programme was also conducted where students expressed their emotions and admiration for their teachers through speeches, songs, and heartfelt words. The celebration concluded with an expression of thanks to the teachers for their invaluable guidance and contribution to shaping the future of students.

Bait Bazi Competition (Senior Group)

Our school participated in the Bait Bazi (Senior Group) competition organized by the Urdu Academy. A total of 12 schools took part in the event, showcasing their talent in Urdu poetry. We are proud to share that our school secured the Third Position in the competition. Moreover, Abdul Subhan, one of our participants, brought further laurels to the school by winning an Individual Prize for Best Performance. This achievement highlights the dedication of our students and the guidance of their teachers in promoting Urdu language and literature.

Bait Bazi Competition

Our school participated in the Bait Bazi competition organized by the Urdu Academy and secured the 3rd position. In addition to the team achievement, two students, Mustahab Shamim and Zubair, were honoured with individual prizes for their excellent performance.

“Goodbye, But Not Forgotten”

After completing 31 years of dedicated service as a Mathematics teacher, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali (PGT Mathematics) retired from Shafiq Memorial Sr. Sec. School on 30th August 2025. A farewell programme was organized in the school library to honor his contribution. The occasion was graced by Prof. Mohammad Yousoof (Manager of the School), the family members of Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, and all the staff members. The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Noor Sir. The staff council presented gifts and tokens of appreciation to Mr. Zulfiqar Ali as a mark of respect and gratitude for his long and sincere service.

Achievement in Para-cum Special Sports Competition

The Directorate of Education organized the Zonal Level Para-cum Special Sports Competition on 28th August 2025 at Chhatrasal Stadium.
  • ✨ Nabeel (CWSN, Class VI-A) secured 1st Position in the 100-Meter Race and has qualified for the State Level Competition.
  • ✨ Mohd. Haris (CWSN, Class XI-A) secured 1st Position in Cycling and has also qualified for the State Level Competition.

  • Theme: Designing Activities for Holistic Progress Cards (HPC) aligned with Competency-Based Assessment.
  • Organized by: SCERT in collaboration with PARAKH, NCERT.
  • Duration: Three days.
  • Objective: To build teachers’ capacity on competency-based assessment practices and orient them on the implementation of Holistic Progress Cards (HPC) at the Foundational, Preparatory, and Middle Stages.
  • Attendee: Mr. Wasi, TGT Social Science.
    2. Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Organized by: Moinee Foundation.
  • Duration: One day.
  • Objective:
  • To equip teachers with foundational knowledge of AI, its functions, applications, and limitations
  • To develop AI-based instructional strategies and create an AI-rich classroom environment

  • Date: 25th August 2025.
  • Guided by: Directorate of Family Welfare, GNCTD.
  • Objective: To train teachers for the effective implementation of the National Deworming Campaign, which involves administering a single age-appropriate dose of Albendazole to children and adolescents aged 1–19 years.

Visit of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia

Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and Chairperson of the Managing Committee of Shafiq Memorial Sr. Sec. School, visited the school on 23rd August 2025 to attend the meeting of the Managing Committee.

He was accompanied by Prof. Kehkashan Y. Daniyal (Secretary of the Managing Committee), Prof. Mohammad Yousuf (Manager of the School), and Mr. Waseem, Principal of Anglo Arabic Sr. Sec. School (Member of the Managing Committee).

After the meeting, Prof. Mazhar Asif interacted with the students of the primary section. He also praised the creative work of students from Classes VI to XII on the theme “Har Ghar Tiranga”. He appreciated their hard work and acknowledged the efforts of teachers in guiding students to decorate the school beautifully on this theme.

His visit proved to be highly inspiring and encouraging for both students and staff members.

Painting competition at Zonal Level (Junior Girls)

The Directorate of Education organized a Painting Competition for junior girls. Our school participated actively, and with great pride, it is reported that our school secured the first position in this competition.

Every year, the Directorate of Education (DoE), NCT of Delhi, organizes cultural competitions in various activities among schools. This year too, our school actively participated in these competitions and brought laurels by winning several prizes.

Ghazal Competition

A Ghazal competition was conducted by the Urdu Academy in which our school participated with great enthusiasm. Our students showcased their talent and secured the third position in the competition, bringing pride to the school.

Urdu Debate Competition

An Urdu Debate Competition was organized by the Urdu Academy at the secondary school level. A total of 43 students participated in the event. Mohd. Usman, a student of Class X-A, represented our school and was awarded a Consolation Prize for his performance.

Zonal Tournament Match Wrestling (Junior Boys)

Aalim=9/C= first position (Aalim Weight Category-88), Husain Ansari=10/B=First position (Hussain Ansari Weight Category-45), It is a matter of great happiness that both our students not only won gold medals in different weight categories but due to that gold medal, both of them have directly qualified for the state level, which is a matter of pride for our school. OATH CEREMONY OF SCHOOL YOUTH COUNCIL FOR THE SESSION 2025-26

The Oath Ceremony of the School Youth Council was held on 23rd August 2025 in the school auditorium. The event began with a prayer and welcome address, followed by the official oath-taking by the newly elected council members. The senior teacher in the presence of the incharge of the school administered the oath, encouraging the students to lead with honesty, responsibility, and dedication. The Head Boy, Head Girl and other council members received their badges and sashes with pride. The ceremony concluded with a motivational speech by Mr. Vakil Ahmad, incharge of the school. It was a proud and inspiring moment for the entire school community.
